LEARN Ministry | Equipping African pastors with sound theological resources

LEARN (Leaders Equipping and Resourcing Network) is driven by the need to partner with Zimbabwean Church leaders to confidently teach biblical doctrine accurately and with confidence. When this is accomplished, the local Church imitates Jesus Christ as they seek to follow Him. This commitment promotes and strengthens effective discipleship which strengthens Christian values in individuals, families, churches, and society.
LEARN was birthed because of the 2015 SIM Zimbabwe country review. The review identified ‘The Church in Zimbabwe is hurting due to many heretical religious movements, harsh economic conditions, and an uncertain future…’. The response was ‘SIM Zimbabwe should focus on bringing healing to the church and community through life-changing discipleship, paying special attention to relevant Christian education, empowering youth and children’s ministries reaching out to vulnerable populations, reaching out to the least reached.’
The report agreed with the in-depth research that was conducted by LEARN with Zimbabwean church leaders which underpinned the church was writhing from the lack of biblically sound resources. The response was to equip and resource church leaders with specifically chosen resources so that they would be more effective communicators of the Gospel.
Partnering with LEARN Global (www.churchlesderslearn.org) who have developed and provide IT support, church leaders are supplied with an electronic tablet pack that contains a specifically designed app. The platform encourages Church leaders to engage with Christian Resources at their own pace with all the convenience of an e-reader. Other features include reading plans, multiple Bible versions, Bible dictionaries, sermon creation and much more.
LEARN Global recognizes study support is essential and consequently user’s progress can be monitored and tested remotely. The platform also protects the copyright of Resources through digital encryption along with restricting operation to authorized users. The packs are distributed at mini-conferences where leaders have the opportunity to fellowship with leaders from other denominations. To date, hundreds of church leaders from many denomination throughout Zimbabwe have benefitted from the LEARN project.
